Who we are

ALACI was founded as ALAI in 1984 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and bécame member of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) in 1987 after the First meeting in Buenos Aires and the reformulation of its guidelines that allowed the inclusion of national societies instead of individual members. Founders members of ALAI were: Argentina, Brasil, Chile and Mexico, and thereafter Colombia and Venezuela (1987), Uruguay (1989), and Paraguay and Cuba (1996) joined. Aproximately 1600 latinoamerican immunologists are enrolled in ALAI.

Federation

ALAI is a regional Federation enrolled in IUIS, along with the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS), Federation of Immunological Societies of Asia-Oceania (FIMSA).
